About MIETHKE
MIETHKE is a German manufacturer based in Potsdam that works almost exclusively on hydrocephalus. Founded in 1992 by engineer Christoph Miethke, it makes titanium shunt valves – preset and non-invasively adjustable, many of them gravity-assisted – together with catheters, reservoirs and telemetric pressure-measurement implants. MIETHKE has worked with B. Braun Aesculap on distribution since 1999.

Therapies
Clinical fields
Ventriculo-peritoneal shunting
Valve systems that divert excess cerebrospinal fluid, with versions from premature infants to adults.
Lumbo-peritoneal shunting
Valve variants and fixation accessories for CSF shunting from the lumbar canal.
Normal pressure hydrocephalus
Adjustable and gravity-assisted valve options for older adults with NPH.
Telemetric ICP measurement
Implantable sensors and software for non-invasive, long-term readings of intracranial pressure.

proGAV 2.0
An adjustable titanium differential-pressure valve, usually combined with a gravitational unit, with a brake against unintended readjustment.
M.scio
A long-term implantable telemetric sensor reservoir for intracranial pressure, read with a dedicated reader unit.
M.flow
An adjustable flow-reducing valve added to a gravitational or differential-pressure valve in the same shunt, with a Real Off setting that closes the shunt.
